Matua Rautia 4 Whānau
Wāhi/place:
Te Whare Puni - Ngaruawahia Community House, 13 Galileo Street, Ngaruawahia
He aha? What is this programme about?
This is a six week series of parenting classes for whānau well-being.
Wā/times: See here for dates.
Parents, whānau and caregivers all welcome. Reo o te ngākau draws on the wisdom of te ao Māori and the philosophy and practices of parenting with nonviolence. A space to learn and to kōrero with others about your parenting journey, and to also learn some reo Māori for growing the fluency of your tamariki and whānau at home.
The project is an initiative of Te Mauri Tau Inc, a holistic kaupapa-Māori based education organisation, located in Whaingaroa (Raglan) and is supported by putea aroha of Philanthropy Aotearoa.
We incorporate reo Māori throughout the series to hold tikanga and to provide insights into cultural wisdom. Explanations will be provided to support understanding. As this is an adult learning space, parents and caregivers need to feel free to focus on their learning needs during class sessions. Piripoho/breastfed babies are welcome, however for older tamariki childcare will need to be organised.
